Ingrid Christoffels

In general, I work on projects concerning cognitive control in speech production, including monolingual inhibitory control and self-monitoring and bilingual language switching and translation, the latter for which I received a VENI grant from the Netherlands Science Foundation.

To study these topics I collaborate with researchers from the LIBC, Maastricht, Nijmegen and Amsterdam. We use fMRI, EEG, and behavioral measures. Using brain measures to study overt speech production is an exciting new development. We also work on network models (ancestral graphs) to study how brain regions collaborate to support complex tasks such as self-monitoring in speech, and language control.
